Speaking to the media after starting in Spain's victory against Czechia on Saturday, Fran García was asked about his young compatriot. The new Real Betis signing responded:
“For me, he is one of the best players in the world, yes, without a doubt. One of the best, yes.”
However, when questioned if Lamine should be the next Ballon d’Or winner, Fran admitted:
“For me, I would choose Fabián Ruiz. Even if he isn’t as eye-catching a player as Yamal.”
