Barcelona Showed Concrete Interest in Mika Godts
La Liga champions Barcelona expressed a significant interest in acquiring Ajax talent Mika Godts, with plans for the 2026/27 season. This information comes from Dutch football insider Mike Verweij.
The young player, Godts, has been a subject of transfer speculation across Europe for several weeks. His name has prominently featured in discussions due to the strong interest from Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG is reportedly actively pursuing a deal to bring Godts to Ligue 1, with an offer expected to exceed €50 million.
However, PSG is not the only major European club that has been monitoring the 21-year-old. Both Barcelona and Bayern Munich also showed interest, as revealed by journalist Mike Verweij.
Sources suggest that Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, visited Amsterdam multiple times last season to scout Godts. Ultimately, Barcelona opted to sign Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi instead.
